Perfect place for a birthday surf.
We went just out of town to a place called Muizenberg which I'd thoroughly
recommend to anyone who wants a chilled day out with the longboard or who
is still an intermediate/beginner (like me). Lovely calm water, no tides,
rips or mush; just clean 3ft waves peeling along a long sandy beach.
Check out the cafe the other side of the railway tracks as well - name
escapes me - where I had the most awesome chilli prawns (they do them big
in SA!) for lunch, only a few squiddlies.
Friendly bunch out there, the shops were happy to look after your kit for
no charge whilst you're out on the water & cheap hire if you haven't got
your own board/wetsuit.
Went home with a big grin!
(actually happened on 29th April 2003 but have only just got round to
writing this)
